A friend asked me to take part in a project of book covers re-design. The only constraint was to use a squared format. The old man on top should be Dostoevsky (and not Darwin), the second drawing it's just inspired by the name of the book "Cold Stars" and my little tarots obsession.

Carnaval and pink flamingos
If you don't love flamingos it means you haven't seen that in your childhood, and that's a really sad thing...! "Le Carnaval des Animaux" de Saint-Saƫns is one of the cd that my father used to make me listen when I was a child, it's an inspiring music.
I've uploaded some process images, it's funny to compare the really detailed sketch with the completely flat intermediate step, eheh...
