Stelle Fredde

A friend asked me to take part in a project of book covers re-design. The only constraint was to use a squared format. The old man on top should be Dostoevsky (and not Darwin), the second drawing it's just inspired by the name of the book "Cold Stars" and my little tarots obsession.

Souvenir de voyage

Some pages from the traveling sketchbook I took with me in US. My fav is the "Poo Temple" on the left corner of the second page, that place was the funniest!

Set them free!

New year, no new resolutions. Don't need them since my old once are still there for me... drawing more, start new arty projects, try to do more watercolors, try to lear landscapes, etc, etc. I've so many resolutions that I don't need any for many years to come. But to start good I'm tidying my archive and I found many drawing of 2016 I haven't published ;)
Hello 2017, I'm getting ready!

Blues River Notes

Since I'm spending more and more time dancing this is also inspiring me in other aspect of my life... like drawing. This artwork is an idea to promote our blues-dance community in Milan, a really small but passionate group. I would love to silk-print it on some t-shirt and bags but I don't know if will' be able to have any budget for that.. ç_ç Let's hope!

Curves and glares

Other set of sketches done with quickposes. This time the exercise was set in poses of 90'' seconds with images from their "erotica archives". I find much more easy to draw female shapes, that gives me time to sketch both body and face... pour guys of the previous exercise... they were a bunch of no-face- man...

"Oil" on "canvas"

I've been using oil crayons for the first time since my childhood. It so fun and challenging!! I must use them again and try some logo design or portraits with those, from great restrictions great results (hopefully).

Squared

Some drawing I did in Varese during one of my "drawing recess weekend". We were copying some images from advertisement pages on fashion magazines. Always quite inspiring.

Shingeki no Bahamut

Some month ago I don't know how I managed to find time to watch anime and I totally felt in love with the character design of Shingeki no Bahamut, when you think of those manga with mono-expressive main characters you're not referring to Favaro. And funny fact, he's a thief, a liar and gesticulate a lot, and guess what? He has an Italian name... shit! We have a really bad reputation in my country, sigh.

Rough & Quick

I've been practicing quick sketches using quickposes.com
It's as funny as difficult, 60 seconds is nothing to define a body structure, but definitely the exercise worth it, you can easily improve and then become a fantastic itinerant sketcher and practice in the underground :p

Patternized

It's about two years that I've started swing dancing. Entering this community have been a really exciting, I've meet thousands funny people, discovered a new way of listening and interacting with music and with my body... an A++ experience.
After many delays and abandoned sketches I've finally made a pattern with the portraits of some of the people that have started this "adventure" with me..!

Of flesh and bones

I realized that it's useless to bring my sketch book on holiday with me, I'm not able to concentrate and find the time to draw when everything around me is terribly interesting and new. Despite wandering around on tumbler is very inspiring, there are tons of beautiful photos, every time I open my dashboard it gives me the will to draw. The last image is a bit different, it's a "copy" of a photo they made to a friend and me at Tempelhof park in Berlin.

Saudade portraits

I went for a three day trip in Lisbon, everything (and everybody) was so colorful and nice. I tried to bring the sketchbook during the visits, but in the end the only place where I found the time to seat and draw was at the airport waiting for the boarding... however once back I've done this quick doodle inspired by some funny surnames my friend S. has invented.

30 day drawing challenge

Now that my studies are over and I've more free time, I've decided to do a drawing challenge: draw one hour a day for all May. I will not follow a schedule, just doodling and finishing and rearranging old stuff, like this drawing...

The Pattern Shortcut

I'm working on a little illustrated child-book for personal purpose.
I found a quick way to avoid drawing background landscapes in my illustrations: to place a big pattern instead...
The second one is about tea break... I don't know if anybody will love to have a hotdog or hamburger at 5 p.m. with muffins and donuts... but it was funny to mix everything.

Carnaval and pink flamingos

If you don't love flamingos it means you haven't seen that in your childhood, and that's a really sad thing...! "Le Carnaval des Animaux" de Saint-Saëns is one of the cd that my father used to make me listen when I was a child, it's an inspiring music.

I've uploaded some process images, it's funny to compare the really detailed sketch with the completely flat intermediate step, eheh...

You can buy all you can see

One month ago I took part to a little exposition and those are the illustrations I've made during a couple hour of "live drawing". They were in sold (5$ each) and in theory the one with the bear on the bike have been booked by a friend... but it seems like she has completely forget about it. If you want any you are still in time to write me and get yours... you can pay me with a "cappuccino e brioche".
Ah,ah.
