Souvenir de voyage

Some pages from the traveling sketchbook I took with me in US. My fav is the "Poo Temple" on the left corner of the second page, that place was the funniest!

Set them free!

New year, no new resolutions. Don't need them since my old once are still there for me... drawing more, start new arty projects, try to do more watercolors, try to lear landscapes, etc, etc. I've so many resolutions that I don't need any for many years to come. But to start good I'm tidying my archive and I found many drawing of 2016 I haven't published ;)
Hello 2017, I'm getting ready!

Curves and glares

Other set of sketches done with quickposes. This time the exercise was set in poses of 90'' seconds with images from their "erotica archives". I find much more easy to draw female shapes, that gives me time to sketch both body and face... pour guys of the previous exercise... they were a bunch of no-face- man...

"Oil" on "canvas"

I've been using oil crayons for the first time since my childhood. It so fun and challenging!! I must use them again and try some logo design or portraits with those, from great restrictions great results (hopefully).

Squared

Some drawing I did in Varese during one of my "drawing recess weekend". We were copying some images from advertisement pages on fashion magazines. Always quite inspiring.

Shingeki no Bahamut

Some month ago I don't know how I managed to find time to watch anime and I totally felt in love with the character design of Shingeki no Bahamut, when you think of those manga with mono-expressive main characters you're not referring to Favaro. And funny fact, he's a thief, a liar and gesticulate a lot, and guess what? He has an Italian name... shit! We have a really bad reputation in my country, sigh.

Rough & Quick

I've been practicing quick sketches using quickposes.com
It's as funny as difficult, 60 seconds is nothing to define a body structure, but definitely the exercise worth it, you can easily improve and then become a fantastic itinerant sketcher and practice in the underground :p

Patternized

It's about two years that I've started swing dancing. Entering this community have been a really exciting, I've meet thousands funny people, discovered a new way of listening and interacting with music and with my body... an A++ experience.
After many delays and abandoned sketches I've finally made a pattern with the portraits of some of the people that have started this "adventure" with me..!

Of flesh and bones

I realized that it's useless to bring my sketch book on holiday with me, I'm not able to concentrate and find the time to draw when everything around me is terribly interesting and new. Despite wandering around on tumbler is very inspiring, there are tons of beautiful photos, every time I open my dashboard it gives me the will to draw. The last image is a bit different, it's a "copy" of a photo they made to a friend and me at Tempelhof park in Berlin.

Carnaval and pink flamingos

If you don't love flamingos it means you haven't seen that in your childhood, and that's a really sad thing...! "Le Carnaval des Animaux" de Saint-Saëns is one of the cd that my father used to make me listen when I was a child, it's an inspiring music.

I've uploaded some process images, it's funny to compare the really detailed sketch with the completely flat intermediate step, eheh...

You can buy all you can see

One month ago I took part to a little exposition and those are the illustrations I've made during a couple hour of "live drawing". They were in sold (5$ each) and in theory the one with the bear on the bike have been booked by a friend... but it seems like she has completely forget about it. If you want any you are still in time to write me and get yours... you can pay me with a "cappuccino e brioche".
Ah,ah.

Also rocks have a perspective

I haven't done much more than nothing this month... but in the end I've something to update!
It's a work a friend asked me by commission for his indi magazine Crossover.
In a few weeks he will print a little booklet with a dozen illustration inspired by the Inferno of Dante Alighieri's "Divina Commedia". This is the one I've done inspired by those lines:

"Lo duca e io per quel cammino ascoso
intrammo a ritornar nel chiaro mondo;
e sanza cura aver d'alcun riposo,
salimmo sù, el primo e io secondo,
tanto ch'i' vidi de le cose belle
che porta 'l ciel, per un pertugio tondo.
E quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle."

The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had

The dream starts, I'm wearing some white lolita shoes and a tiny skirt. I follow my own feet in a crowded dance floor, the music is so hight that my brain has decided to stop working and just to follow the beat.
He is dancing with some blonde nymphet, I don't care, I'm dancing too. Suddenly my eyes fell in to some blue eyes, his. He grabs my hand, I fly through the dance floor and then again I look into those eyes in a cloud of smoke. I open my mouth and blow the smoke of my cigarets to his face. He vanishes.

This story has absolutely nothing to do with the drawing, but I had a dream in which I was writing this post and there was exactly this story and then… dunno.
I make different variants of the picture because I was not sure of what kind of results I was looking for. Still I can't say which one I prefer. Perhaps the white one, or the orange, well the green also has something nice…
The main thing is not to try to give a sense to the pic. There isn't any. Or maybe if there's one, it is made of the same substance that dreams are made of. (glycemia)

This little post scriptum is dedicated to Photoshop, who crashed three times while I was drawing this pic. Thanks, I love you like hell.

Let's talk about magic

So long no see. There a little preview of the comics I'm drawing for Crossover (the Torino based fanzine). I'm so slow then I've to ink my drawings... I hate that part of the job... For more informations (and stuf) you'll wait for next post, 'cause now I'm already bored of writing in english... ^^

Chopin - Préludes

This is the first of the two cd graphic I made for my illustration class final project.
I decide to create a cd-cover for a Chopin work: "les préludes"; my mission was to create an image that young people would appreciate, not the classic abstrait work that we usually see on classic cd-case.
I crate an evocative image following that the music inspired me.
Here the first versione and some sketches before the final version.
